This is an extra-wide version of our Gencon Dog Headcollar and is perfect for training large breeds and dogs with long coats. It has been requested by owners and used by dog trainers to gain more control of their dogs when out and about. The extra-wide headcollar safely and gently stops your dog from pulling without you having to jerk the lead.
The 25mm width provides added durability and strength, making it ideal for powerful dogs and heavy pullers.
This lead comes in black and red and is available as either left-handed or right-handed. Please ensure you have measured your dog to get the correct size.

The Gencon headcollar consists of two loops, one that goes over your dog’s nose and the other goes around their neck like a collar. When your dog tries to pull on the lead, our headcollar gently restricts their head movement. To keep our extra-wide headcollar clean, we suggest regularly washing at 40 degrees to get rid of all the dirt and grit that your dog rolls in! Our headcollars and leads have been made to last so regular washing won’t affect the material at all.

Using this on a Great Dane and it works really well. Had to work out, at first, where it fits over the muzzle so it doesn’t squash his very long jowls! When he tries to play with other dogs whilst on the lead, it doesn’t jerk his head round as much as his previous head collar. The wide strap is better for the large dog – I have used a narrow one with a previous dog and tried this first with less effect. My dog does seem to prefer this head collar to his other ones. The only thing I would say is try to measure accurately. I think mine could be better one or two inches longer.

Great collar. Our German Shepherd now walks to heel and doesn’t pull. Makes going out a pleasure. The collar is also very soft across the the dogs nose,. After a week of use I can certainly say our large German Shepherd is more controllable and even my wife now walking him as previously she didn’t have confidence to take him out for walks.
