An all-in-one dog head collar and lead, otherwise known as a figure 8 collar, is the ideal addition to your dog walk. Headcollars are a great dog training aid, allowing you control over your pet for comfortable and safe walks or training sessions. If you walk your dog on the left side choose the ‘Left Handed’ lead option, or the ‘Right Handed’ option if you walk your dog on the right.

I love this harness, it is a nice fit on my Sprocker spaniel, it is comfortable on him and doesn’t ride up into his armpits.
Front and back rings for double ended lead should this be required. I would definitely recommend this harness.

I think the headcollar is just fantastic and a lifesaver. I’d recently volunteered (stupidly) to look after a family member’s 13 month old labrador for the month of August. I’m an experienced dog owner but had sadly had to say goodbye to my 13 year old Staffy last year and missed the canine company. Unfortunately she was a nightmare on an ordinary lead and also reactive to other passing dogs so ‘walkies’ was an absolute nightmare for a pensioner like me! I tried everything I knew and even got training for using a slip lead which did help but it has its limitations and if you’re a novice they need concentration to use properly. Then she came into season and I was at my wit’s end….and exhausted! A professional dog walker came to my aid and advised me about the Gencon collar and gave me one of hers to trial. Oh wow! Yes. It was a complete game changer. total transformation in her behaviour and it became a pleasure to walk her; no more pulling and lunging and her reactions to other dogs was transformed. I even managed to take her into a coffee shop and CARRY a cup of coffee in one hand and her Gencon in the other hand and passed 3 dogs calmly to reach a table without spilling a drop lol! So I bought one for her owner and when I returned her to her family the 12 year old daughter managed to take her out for a walk without being pulled off her feet; the first time ever! I bought the gencon all-in-one on the recommendation of a dog trainer I know. It has totally transformed walks with a 2 year old labrador I rescued who had no formal lead training. When I first got him he pulled incessantly, and lunged at other dogs in a way that made the owners look apprehensive and want to move away! Now I can walk with a loose lead and people comment on how lovely the dog is! I bought this all-in-one headcollar for my 2-year-old Border Collie. She can pull a lot in towns and when out on country walks too particularly at the start of a walk. I had tried other halti-type leads but this is by far the best, most comfortable for her and also so easy to put on and take off. I haven’t tried it in towns yet but out on our country walks she is definitely improved. When we start our walk, she is still keen but the pressure is on her and she twigs that she needs to slow down to remove the pressure. It’s also helping towards loose lead walking too. I’ve only had it for a few weeks but it’s changed our walking ‘stresses’ and she is far easier to train with it.

Bought a Gencon all in one in desperation. Have acquired a 14 month old dog Golden Labrador @ 38Kg..A rehoming case. Totally feral, no training, never been walked. Walking was a total nightmare. It’s given me plantar fasciitis in right foot, can hardly walk, back ache and very low spirts. To hold him back I was using Royal Naval anchor chain and heavy gloves !
Persuaded him to wear this device ,another story, and got a new dog. Instantly, stopped pulling, easy to control etc what’s happened to him! Has my wife slopped him a Valium or something? My neighbours don’t believe it. Instead of being dragged along, I walk past slowly, with a RELAXED lead !
So, walking has instantly become a pleasure again. However, much more important is that the dog is relaxed. He was so stressed before. I’m relaxed now as well. But even more important, is that he engages with me now. He totally ignored me before thus making training impossible. We now converse, he listens, responds to me and any orders I give. It seems to have an effect I can’t understand. When the lead is slack even, he’s responding to me. He’s looking at me. It’s a very strange effect that the company doesn’t emphasise.
One point of criticism, is that if it’s not applied properly, it can be backed out of in a situation where he’s scared. I bought the small band to clip the “X” to his normal collar. So if disaster happens, you are still attached to your dog! This is so essential in my view , that this should be a part of the basic package, not an optional extra.
In summary, if you value your health, sanity, and that of your dog, you would be well advised to try this !
